  1. Peace on Earth?

“Aren’t humans amazing? They kill wildlife – birds, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice and foxes by the million in order to protect their domestic animals and their feed.

Then they kill domestic animals by the billion and eat them. This in turn kills people by the million, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative – and fatal – health conditions like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and cancer.

So then humans spend billions of dollars torturing and killing millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases.

Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals.

Meanwhile, few people recognize the absurdity of humans, who kill so easily and violently, and then plead for ‘Peace on Earth.'” C. David Coates

The good news is that anyone can break this cycle of violence. I did and you can too. Each of us has the power to choose compassion. Peace really does begin in the kitchen. • I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life, my kids and grandkids are vegetarians as well. Don’t’ wear leather, or use animal products. Picket, demonstrate and work for animal rights. People do try to make a difference. Everything is about choices. Absolutely everything. There is big money in death. That’s what we have to stop. Try going against the people who raise cattle, pigs, etc. Everything is about economics. They have powerful lobbyists in Washington. Just like tobacco interests. That’s what we’er up against. People don’t seem to understand that estrogen is pumped into chickens, so they are top heavy and can’t walk. People eat the estrogen, they give it to their kids. Estrogen can cause disease, cancer being one of them. The birds/animals are fed terrible things and they are live under extremely stressful conditions, de beaked, tortured and forced into filthy and overcrowded cages. People eat the hormones that are running through depressed, stressed and terrified animals and birds. People don’t seem to care about that. If we can’t get them to have compassion for the suffering of untold numbers of animals, you would think them may take the things they actually eat themselves, into consideration, but it doesn’t seem to matter. Poison doesn’t matter. So the suffering and sickness will continue. You can’t make people change, as you said. changing is an individual choice. I don’t know what it will take.
