Dreaming With Eyes Wide Open

Dreaming

I am floating on the water, seeing some currents in front of me and I am ready to speed through them, but then I decide to just lift off and fly with the speed of light over this beautiful river. Admiring the different shades of blue, green and sometimes turquoise of it. I fly above the river, following its path until it reaches the ocean.

I keep flying above the water, just high enough to not touch it. Underneath me, the waves form this beautiful white foam; some of them come dangerously close to me! But I manage; I can go higher just in time to not clash with them.

I go up, like a rocket, straight up until I touch the white cloud with my finder tips. The sun is changing its color while I stay up there for a while, watching how the beautiful warm yellow changes in deeper colors, orange, gold, red, and dunks everything around it into a layer of gold and red. What a beautiful and amazing spectacle of nature. How calming, how soothing and so stunning. I watch and enjoy and try to see all the different shades of all those amazing colors. And I think, only nature can be so beautiful!

I move on, chasing the daylight after watching the sun set in one part of the world and its beautiful play with all kind of colors. I move on to another corner of this planet, where I spot a rainbow. I slide down a rainbow, only to fly straight up again and then I let myself drop, fall, and go deeper and deeper until I dive into the ocean.

It’s okay; I can breath under the water. I speed through a swarm of fish, and then I stop at a coral reef and for a short time admire all the colors. I go on and join a pot of dolphins on their journey, join them as the jump out of the water, spin with them, swim with them, have fun with them, hold on to their dorsal fin and let them pull me. I feel like a little child! I am having so much fun! And I cannot concentrate on one thing. There are so many beautiful things going on down here and I want to see it all.

Look, a turtle! She seems so calm! I sit down on her shell and let her carry me along for a little while. I look around and enjoy. Until I see the whale! I have to go over and join this group! There are so many! They are so big, so majestic, so beautiful and so calm. They sing and I sing a long. We all breach and play in the water. And while I breach, I decide to leave the ocean and start flying again. And I think only nature can be so majestic!

I join a seagull for a little while but then leave her and join an eagle and with him, I go back to the land. I decide to go my own way again. I keep flying just above the sand and follow this long stretch of beach until it sort of gets boring. I turn, change direction, head inland, flying over mangroves, then swamps, then what seems like a rainforest, until I reach a desert.

It is hot. Still, I am fast enough so it keeps cooling me down. The desert is so quiet, peaceful unforgiving. I like it but I want something different. So I change direction again. I am flying over a very different landscape now. It is green and fresh, with big boulders everywhere and finally in front of me, there is a huge mountain. On top it is covered in snow. I want to go there! And I think only nature can be so diverse!

Snow… I am above the snowfield now. It sparkles in the sun, like thousands and thousands of diamonds or stars underneath me. I spin and let my fingers glide softly over the fresh layer of snow. It’s cold but so beautiful.

I decide to slow down. I stop. There is a snowflake and I want to look at it in slow motion. It spins slowly and I watch. I admire the beautiful shape of it. How very beautiful.

But I want to go on, there is still so much more to see. So I fly on and spin and fly straight up again, only to let me drop again. Enjoying this feeling of the free fall. Then, right before I hit the ground, I pull up and keep flying just above ground again. I see all sorts of animals on my journey and I admire them. They are beautiful and so strong. And I think only nature can be so pretty!

I want to go back to the dolphins, so I head back to the ocean and a little voice in my mind goes “look”…”look”…”look”… “Mommy!”

What? Mommy? What? Oh!

“Mommy! Look! I found a beautiful shell!”

Which brings me back to the real world. I was dreaming. Sitting in the sand, on the beach while my kids were looking for some shells. Dreaming with my eyes wide open… Oh how very beautiful and refreshing :-)…

This post was inspired by Living The Dream. Thank you for that

Okay so…

I don’t know about you but I’m sick and tired about hearing about all the PROBLEMS  in the entire world without having a SINGLE SOLUTION that is reasonable, workable and REALISTIC.  Instead of whining, moaning, wringing our hands and talking everything to death I think we should start with:

1.  Abolish history in all schools and call it PROBLEM SOLVING.  I believe that no one is being taught HOW TO SURVIVE AND SOLVE PROBLEMS, in any way AT ALL.  We need to teach kids how to USE THEIR GOVERNMENT AND THEIR PERSONAL POWER TO MAKE THE CHANGES THEY WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD.  No more teaching ABOUT war…we need to teach how TO NEVER HAVE WARS IN THE FIRST PLACE.  Use the FAILURES (wars) of the past to teach how to not do that again.

2.  Teach, hands on, how to get laws changed.  How to form in peaceful group demonstrations.  How to write petitions and get them signed.  How to become an active part of the society they live in.  Show them examples of what changes were brought about by everyday people…how women got the vote, etc.  But, of course, you would have to update that since we are under constant surveillance today, and we are part of the electronic age.  We need new ways of doing things.

3  We need to point out the MISTAKES our GOVERNMENT makes and tell kids the TRUTH about what our government does.  GREED, KILL FOR OIL, GOODS, ETC.  WE NEED TO TEACH THEM THAT WE ARE LIED TO and that it’s up to them to stop believing what they are told and to find peaceful solutions to THEIR problems.  WE MUST START TEACHING KIDS TO NOT BE SHEEP AND BELIEVE EVERYTHING THEY ARE TOLD…so they can think of ways to make the world a better place.

4.  We need to STOP CELEBRATING WAR AND VIOLENCE…in books, films and real life.

5.  We must offer alternative ways of LOOKING AT THINGS.  Feed the people of the world?  HOW CAN WE DO IT?  Tell us what can be done and how. School project…how to feed the world.  Entire school project:  HOW TO END WAR!  All grades.  Gimme whatcha got kids.  Tell us how to do it…WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD WORK?

WE NEED TO RESPECT OUR KIDS AND THEIR IDEAS FOR THE FUTURE!  WE NEED TO ASK THEM FOR ANSWERS.  WE NEED TO LISTEN TO THEM AND STOP TREATING THEM LIKE IDIOTS.  THEY ARE CONSTANTLY TALKED TO AND NOT ASKED FOR THEIR OPINIONS.

6.  WE MUST TEACH PROBLEM SOLVING because it’s as important as reading, writing, the arts and math.  Without problem solving skills WE HAVE NO HOPE!  THEY have no hope.

We talk endless about the problems the world faces and WE DO NOTHING AT ALL (small, underfunded groups work tirelessly to make changes and I’m grateful to them), but the reason we do nothing is because WE DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

7.  We need CLEAR CUT SOLUTIONS SOLUTIONS TO OUR PROBLEMS.  SOLUTIONS THAT PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND AND WORK ON/WITH.  People feel helpless, disconnected and that’s being done to us, ON PURPOSE, for a reason.  That’s why WE ARE NEVER TAUGHT HOW TO USE OUR GOVERNMENT FOR CHANGE.  HOW TO ACTUALLY SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS instead of just looking at them and then walking away with NOTHING TO DO BECAUSE THERE ISN’T ANYTHING WE CAN DO.

8.  WE HAVE TO STEP UP AND DEMAND THAT OUR SCHOOLS WORK FOR OUR KIDS AND TEACH THEM LIFE SKILLS TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE AND STOP REPEATING WAR STORIES AND HERO WORSHIP FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT GOOD PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES.  Kids need to build their own schools from the inside.  Their input should be paramount.  They need committees to meet with teachers and staff and discuss student rights and subject matter AND NOT JUST THE HONOR STUDENTS.  EVERY STUDENT GROUP NEEDS REPRESENTATION.  They need to be able to speak up about abusive and bad teachers.  They need to BE PART OF THEIR OWN EVERY DAY LIFE AND EDUCATION.  TEACHERS NEED TO BE EDUCATED ON HOW TO TEACH PROBLEM SOLVING.

9.  We need to stop lying to ourselves and to our children, if we are serious about bringing about any kind of change in the world or our own backyards.  We need to be role models and show our kids that we CARE, and are willing to take action, to solve the world’s problems.  Watching TV doesn’t TEACH OUR KIDS ANYTHING AT ALL.  Taking them to a demonstration or rally will open their eyes to new possibilities.  We need to tell our kids the truth and overturn the gossip and lies they hear on TV or from others.  Lies about gender, race, age…lies, etc.  We can’t afford to just, “let it go.”

10.  People are starving all over the world…and?  What, exactly,  are we supposed to do about that?  Do you know?  Can you trust the charities that say they will help, but actually keep the money for themselves?  Who can we trust?  How can we feed people?  Did any teacher ever teach you how to problem solve that one?  How about your parents?  Anyone?  OR WERE YOU FORCE FED SOCIETIES RULES AND GOALS, SO THAT YOU WOULD STAND IN LINE AND WAIT TO BE TOLD WHAT TO DO NEXT? BECAUSE THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT SCHOOLS TEACH.  Nice little robot.  If you don’t follow the rules…punishment follows (just like in real life).  Where’s the punishment for our government?  Who punishes them for our war torn, poisoned, starving earth?  Regular people don’t start wars.  You and I can’t start a war that will kill thousands upon thousands of our kids…nope, that’s our friendly government who doesn’t ask us our opinion…they just take our kids.  Who punishes them?  Who has any power OVER them?  Who can CONTROL them?  Aren’t they supposed to WORK FOR US?

11.  We need to put up or shut up (from my sorted teen age past).  Put our money where our mouths are or stop talking about the misery and suffering and get over it.  Talking doesn’t help anyone.  It make people even more depressed than they already are.  Come up with workable solutions to ANY of our problems and let us know what we can actually DO to make a difference or PLEASE STOP SHOVING IT IN OUR FACES.  Imagine a world where no one watched the news.  NO ONE.  Seriously…think about that.  I haven’t watched in years.  They can’t manipulate you and lie to you unless you let them.  They can’t make you HATE ANYONE, if you stop watching. The guys who OWN the stations ALLOW you to SEE WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO SEE.  That’s the absolute truth.  People aren’t watching news they are being manipulated and brainwashed. So, stop watching.  We won’t even know we went to war.  Maybe no one will show up.  Every time you see a political figure, change the channel and watch cartoons, there’s more truth in what the cartoon characters say, than the acting you’ll see with the other guy.

Think about these things.  Think about how you were NEVER taught to make changes in the world.  Think about what you can do to bring about change, tax big businesses that pollute our air and water and kill our kids…think about what you can do about THAT.  Teach your kids the TRUTH.  They have to take care of their own world by wrenching it out of the hands of rich, white, males who are too powerful for their own good.  Teach your kids that if they want a better world, if they want peace and food for everyone, that THEY WILL HAVE TO BE THE ONES TO MAKE IT HAPPEN because we have let them down.  We are leaving our kids a terrible legacy.  A poisoned planet, run by greedy, thoughtless power-hungry people and our schools are in step with that.  Law and Order, follow the rules, do as your told…baaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Stop being part of the problem.  Work for change in your school.  Go to them individually.  Get guest speakers, BE A GUEST SPEAKER, tell the kids what they’re up against and that they need to THINK of ways to make things better FOR THEMSELVES BECAUSE WE HAVE MADE A MESS OF THINGS!

Oh, and don’t forget to tell them how dangerous it will be to work for peace.  How dangerous it will be for them to try and bring about positive changes in the world.  Because it will be. I have been an activist for most of my life, so I know. And tell them how long it might take, because they will be fought, by powerful forces who will kill to keep the status quo in place.  It is dangerous.  It is tough.  They will be told that it’s impossible, but truthfully, the alternative is slavery of the entire human race.  But you know what?  If our choices lead us to that end, people will forget what freedom was ever like, so no worries…most people hardly know that’s already begun.   The time has truly come to make a choice.  There are always turning points in her/history…I think this is one of them, but of course, we all have to decide for ourselves…at least while we still can.

Um, have a nice day.

What Will Be My Legacy?

What will we leave behind? What will people remember? What do you want them to remember? What will I leave behind?

I hope my kids will one day say that I taught them to stop and listen and look around. Look up, look at the stars and appreciate what is around us and who we are. I try to teach them this one little thing.

IMG_0468.JPG

Stop and listen. Listen to the wind. Listen to the story it tells.

Stop and watch. Watch the waves as they roll in, watch the sun raise or set. Watch the storm develop, watch the butterfly dance in the air.

Breathe in and smell the air, the different scent it has. Smell the weather, the season, the flowers, there is so much out there.

Let your head fall back and glance up, mouth wide open, tongue out and try to catch those snowflakes or drops of rain and just taste them. Enjoy good food. The sweetness of fruits.

Just feel, hear, taste, smell and experience how beautiful life is.

That is probably the most important thing of what I want my kids to remember. What I hope that they will tell their friends, spouses or kids one day.

But I also want them to remember that I taught them:

To stop and enjoy.

To stand up for themselves.

That it’s okay to say no.

That you got to life your live and not wait for it to happen.

I want them to know what it feels like to be loved.

If they look back one day and say “This is what mom and dad taught us” and “mom and dad loved us”, then I will be one happy girl 🙂

Walking quietly as I possibly could

I meandered down a Mystical Path
after hearing my name being called.

Curiosity took hold of my spirit

and down I went on that Path.
♥
My astonished eyes were greeted by the Queen Herself

and as I stood there gulping greedily
within Her Towering Grace
♥
out came my phonecam as She conceeded
Her Presence to Gift to you.
♥
Trees and ferns, thick brush and thickets

Entered I into Solitude, Peace and Bliss.

I cringed at the noise my bike was making

as I walked upon this Holy Ground.

Holding you dearly in my Heart
I brought you to this Holy Ground

As this Magnificent Forest, lush and green,
most graciously granted to me

It was then Her Message came clear as could be

B-z-z-e-e — B-e-e-z-z (5 MACROS)

Well, the question has been answered. Will the bees trust me using my macro lens as I photograph them from within my Lavender Bushes? I have a 60mm lens which is not a very long lens by far, and I work with no extension tubes. I use only my macro lens when I do all my macro photography.

The day I took these images, I saw the incredible focused and extremely busy activities the bees on my Lavender Bushes were involved in. I was astonished that a huge human head with this big black box in front of the face, did not faze these bees in the least. Can you even imagine what a huge human head must look like to a bee? This tiny bee no bigger then the end of my nose, if that, didn’t even miss a beat in getting to the flower he had his eyes set on!

We humans can certainly learn from these bees how to remain on track and focused no matter what, in order to accomplish what we orignally set out to do!

Having camera in hand, I said to myself, this is the moment to see if these bees will trust me. And they did. Not a one broke stride as I had my face buried in those bushes.

In the following photos, yes, some have been cropped to get the image of the bees in closer, but, if I showed you the original, not much was cropped off. When I viewed these photographs, again … again I say, my jaw dropped. I am so humbled beyond words how I am able to photograph Nature without disturbing Her. And I am given permission to do so.

The following FIVE photographs are of the bees busily working on my Lavender Flowers. I see this every Summer, and every Summer I am in awe how these bees remember that I have special Lavender flowers just for them. Every Summer they return, and this year, their number has increased. For this, my Heart does rejoice, for the bees have been struggling so hard within this environment that has become so toxic to them.

May you marvel as I still do, when you view the incredible detail I was able to get for you. Be Blessed. Be Happy. Know you are Loved and may the Abundance of the Bee follow you in your own Life!

Love, Peace, and (((HUGS))) Amy

We Speak

We speak
We soothe, we comfort,
We bring hope where there is despair
We bring life where there is death
We speak

We speak in the voices of our ancestors
We strengthen, we encourage
We bring passion where there is apathy
We bring wisdom where there is confusion
We speak

We speak in the voices of our future
We enlighten, we educate
We bring guidance where there is no direction
We bring light where there is darkness
We speak

We speak to raise new voices
We speak to tell different stories
And so we speak
