The Isha Upanishad says:
“Of a certainty,
the man who can see
all creatures in himself;
himself in all creatures,
knows no sorrow.”
A lesson humans still resist
but so profound a truth is this,
I thought it fit to feature and
thus borrowed it.
I wanted to do a peace related typography poster. And was searching for a nice one. I was tired of searching for the right quote that could fit my mood and taste. After hitting around 70 pages from izquotes, i came across Vanna Bonta’s quote. It was quite short and sweet. And i was delighted to pick it up for the design.
Understanding precedes peace.
– Vanna Bonta
As far as i understood, the quote intends to convey that once if we understand others, we would be making peace. To put it in better words, i’m reminded of Stephen Covey’s words “First seek to understand, and then to be understood”. The very moment when we are successful at understanding others in the right way, we would be naturally making peace.
Vanna Bonta is a multi talented person. She is a poet, novelist, actress, song writer and a voice artist. Vanna Bonta passed away last month.
I liked most of her quotes and probably might do another poster of her words in the future.
Hope you like the poster.
