Artists 4 Peace is an International project. Artists from all over the world are contributing to the blog and we are truly proving that ART MATTERS.
We want YOU to get involved!
It’s time that we work, not fight, for peace. We have to end the fighting, we have to work for peace. We need new pictures in our heads and around us…we need new stories. New HISTORY books…books without war, without CELEBRATIONS of war, HEROES of war, lies about war, tales written by the victors. We are literally TEACHING children that WAR is a way of life. We NEVER talk about PEACE as a way of life. I’ve said it before…we have a gigantic DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE but we don’t have a Department for Peace. We are taught to believe that war is the answer when, in fact, the answer might be PEACE. Stop studying about war, stop watching the pictures they are putting into our heads. We need to see life from a different perspective. We are being CONDITIONED AND BRAINWASHED into believing that fighting and killing is the only way life can be lived/experienced…but we have never tried peace. I think the time has come. We need to WORK for peace and we need to do it now.
We believe your passion is your Art. So whether your medium is paint, poetry, yarn, music or pottery YOU can be part of the movement.
We are looking for:
- Paintings
- Digital Art
- Sculptures
- Drawings
- Poetry
- Music Videos or Audio
- Lyrics
- Essays
- Fiction
- Non Fiction
- Photography
- Pottery
- Knitting
- Calligraphy
- Dance
Seriously, any kind of Art!
Each month a different theme will be the focal point. Submissions due on the 1st of the month…publications on the 15th.
Please take a look at the Submission Guidelines as well as the Monthly Topics & Deadlines and Current Schedule. We also encourage and accept any other Peace related submissions that we will post throughout the month.
We ask that you please put the Artists 4 Peace logo on your blog. It will not only show others you are part of the project, it will allow you instant access to the artists4peace blog. Simply go here for Logos and instructions.
Join us in using our art to promote love, understanding and peace throughout the world.
Thank you!

I totally agree with your message. When I started writing, I realized how many stories – event the ones I loved – all ended with war and fighting. Heroes were killers…it made me very sad. So I took on the challenge of creating a book where it didn’t end with war where the good guys kill lots of people – in fact the main character is very much against violence. But like real life, we can’t always stop violence. In my personal opinions, true heroes are the ones who sacrifice and stand up for what is wrong…words have power, it doesn’t always require a gun.

Just as an aside, although the word
Hu-per-son-ity sounded peculiar the first few times I said it, I have grown to love it as a gender-neutral word. Try it maybe you will like it too.

Hi Gigi and Melanie,
This is a beautiful and noble project. I whole heartedly agree that more of us need to talk, write, focus and share about and from a place of peace within.
I write posts and poems about peace and would be happy to share them. I’ll look into your submissions. And look for your logo to put on my site. I started with Bloggers 4 Peace, but they seem to have gone inactive. So I’m happy to join your group. 🙂

I would like to nominate a true Hero for Peace, he was born to the sounds of bombs and anti-aircraft fire on 8 October 1940 when Europe was at war. Lived a life troubled by the visions of his youth, mum and dad leaving him to the care of an aunt, then his mother being killed while he was in his teens. He fought all his life for Peace only to be gunned down on his way home to his son on 9 December 1980. His tribute in Central Park is at the top of this blog and I cannot imagine a better Hero4Peace than John Lennon. Let’s all Give Peace a Chance.
